Falling Down
Chapter 10
We're all set, then. I believe you
brought some things for your son?
Oh. Yes.
Reaching under the table, his
mother brought up a duffel bag.
I'll need to inspect the contents, of course.
Of course.
His mother opened the bag and began laying
out the articles of clothing and miscellaneous
toiletries she had packed for him. There was
also the journal someone had probably told
her that he needed, and his mp3 player.
That will have to be kept in your room.
You may listen to it at night, but during the
day when you're not in therapy we expect you
to socialize with the other patients.
Xander nodded.
Right.
What about his school books?
Should I have brought those?
The nurse shook her head.
Not necessary nor recommended
at this time. We'll let you know if that
changes after his case review, but frankly
I wouldn't expect it to at any time soon.
How about other books? You
know -- like novels? Is she allowed
to bring me anything like that?
Fiction is acceptable. As long as
it's nothing that will cause you any
additional stress right now, it's fine.
He grinned.
Sweet. Thanks.

I'm surprised they allowed the MP3 player, they didn't let me bring that for someone, also told me they had a school there. Turned out the schooling was watching documentaries *sigh*
