It's the socks that change color, usually from red to black... go figure... Try putting shoes on the characters.

All of the credit for the toys goes to my wife, ColoradoShan. I did Bear, but she remixed him so he didn't look so much like a demon-possessed bridge troll. She's got really great character building/portrait skills. I just wish I knew why the feet keep changing color when I use them!
