Devs, you've given us so
much lately, that I feel awful
asking for more. But I
have a real problem.

This Piece of crap here is my
computer. Duo processor,
about 60G Rom, could use
more RAM, but overall, not
that bad a machine.
2
e=mc
But I use this
when making strips.
the touchpad.
2
e=mc
The stupid thing can be incredibly
sensitive, sometimes activating a
link even when I don't click on
anything. Where bitstrips comes
into this is making comics.
2
e=mc
You have it set so
that whenever we
click the links circled
in red, the system
asks us if we want to
leave the page.
This is wonderful.
2
e=mc
But anything circled
in blue, including back,
forward, and bookmarks,
can yank us from the
builder page with no
prompts at all, losing
all our hard work. Even
people without
touchpads have had
this issue, as it's a
complaint I have heard in
chat again and again.

Please, I'm begging, let the
next change you make be an
upgrade to the builder page
that asks if you want to
leave, no matter WHAT
link you hit. It would save
so many users a ton of
frustration and lost work.
Personally, I'll deal with
the aggrivation of an extra
prompt over losing hours
of work any day.

Thanks for listening. And, as always,
thank you for all the hard work
you guys do. Words can't express
how much we appreciate it, or love
this kooky little site You made for us.

Forever Grateful,
Kat

They changed it now!

I was making an art strip and talking to my friend at the same time. (Bad Idea BTW) I meant to press "Update status" But I pressed my friends head! GAAAH! I had tostart all over again! Believe me, I feel your pain... TIMES 12!

Before I got a USB mouse, I was using a touch pad to make strips. Once you develop some finesse, it's not bad, really. A trackball mouse is still much better, though.

Made a dress once...I was working on it for an hour, hour and a half, it didn't save, and didn't finish. after that...I made sure my touch pad was never out of the comic builder hoving over some random link. I DON'T EVEN *LOOK* AT THE LINKS!

I completely agree. I can't tell you how many times i've lost strips by clicking the wrong thing. Also, I agree with Forsythe! I was round a friend's house and tried using his touchpad to make strips, and I just was incapable of doing anything right with it..!

You use a touch pad to make strip? Jesus Crest! I'm not worthy! Seriously, how in the hell do you do that!!!?

Sometimes I hit back space when in comic builder, trying to type, and it just yanks me right out the builder. Usually when I'm on the last panel.

Unfortunatley, i know what you mean.

Yeah, mouse or touchpad, it happens to everyone.

Lordy-loo, but I agree.

same i hate when that happens

I agree with that one. It don't matter if ya got a mouse or not. Sometimes you just hit the wrong thing.

...and that's why I use a mouse.

If you go into your mouse control, you can turn off the touch button part of you pad and use the regular buttons only.

Girl i dont have a desk either, but my mouse works just fine on my bed/couch!

I think it would be nice if all the links worked the same way, at least in the comic/character builder pages. One thing that I find messes me up on occasion is that I have my touchpad set to click-on-tap instead of having to use the actual button. If you have it the same way, you could look into changing the touchpad behavior to force you to use the button instead, at lease until this can be fixed in the code.

OMG Yes yes yes! Pleaaasee!

Mice arent the total solution though. I don't have a desk I can use, I do most of my computing from a bed or chair. And the complaints come equally from mice and touchpad users. An accidental click for any reason and its all over.

It's happened to me a couple of times too. I now close the bookmark toolbar, which helps. And I bought a mouse for my laptop (hate, hate, hate those touch pads) which also helps.

I've tried pads & graphics tablets but as far as Bitstrips is concerned, I highly recommend getting a mouse. They're not that expensive and saves a lot problems and frustrations.

Yep, that's happened to me once or twice, too. It's painful.
